TASKA’s resources for rehabilitation and training

Rehabilitation and training play a crucial role in helping patients regain functionality, independence, and confidence, ensuring that users can take full advantage of the capabilities of their prosthetic hand. While most work must be carried in the prosthetist’s presence, we’ve created two key supportive resources for patients and clinicians when fitting a TASKA Hand: the TASKA Learning Academy and the training games in the MyTASKA app.

The TASKA Learning Academy (TLA) platform offers world-class certification courses and training for TASKA’s suite of products. It provides detailed courses on the design, function, and maintenance of TASKA hands, and is a fundamental tool for anyone wanting to be certified to fit a TASKA Hand. The TLA is also a go-to for clinicians during their patient’s rehabilitation journey as it offers ongoing education opportunities, such as user best practices, skill development, and tips for training on activities of daily living (ADLs).

The engaging and effective training games in the MyTASKA app help patients improve control of their TASKA Hand by refining clear open and close signals and practicing EMG (electromyography) proportional control, essential for achieving optimal performance of a myoelectric prosthetic hand.

By adopting a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation and training and utilising the available resources clinicians and patients can maximise the benefits of using a TASKA Hand. This, in turn, allows users to experience a significantly improved quality of life.
