Proud to support the NZ Paralympic Team

As we gear up for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, taking place from 28 August to 8 September, our team at TASKA Prosthetics are very proud to be sponsoring the remarkable NZ Paralympic Team.

More than just a sports event, the Paralympics are a proof of human resilience and determination. Each athlete's journey leading to the event is a story of overcoming challenges, defying odds, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

TASKA’s Product Manager Claire Mai has been to a Paralympic Games in Sydney when she was 10 years old, "I was amazed by the abilities of the athletes. Seeing them perform activities that made them superhuman was extremely inspiring. I specifically loved watching Wheelchair rugby, Wheelchair tennis and wrestling where athletes were blind or deaf (or both)!"

The event inspired Claire’s passion for the prosthetic industry, "often these athletes had some kind of device which allowed them to compete, and I believe being exposed to this at a young age inspired me to want to work on such devices.”

Driven by this experience, Claire has obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by a Master's in Biomedical Engineering, and has worked with medical devices ever since.

For us, supporting the NZ Paralympic Team is about celebrating the achievements of disabled people in sport. For Mark Godenho, TASKA’s Head of Marketing, "it feels like a natural extension of our mission, as we strive to instil confidence, enabling others to unlock life’s full potential." We are honoured to be part of the NZ Paralympic Team’s journey and cannot wait to see the heights they will achieve.
